Joel began his career in public accounting in 2007 with Lewis & Knopf. As a Principal, he is responsible for handling complex tax returns and multi-state tax issues. Joel is accredited in business valuation and leads the firm’s business valuation practice. He works with clients across a variety of industries, including small businesses, restaurants, manufacturing, medical, and retail.

Since 2013, Joel has played a key role in overseeing much of the growth and merger activity within the firm’s Fenton office. In addition to his client service responsibilities, he serves the firm as a member of both the tax and marketing committees.

Known for his strong work ethic and approachable personality, Joel’s coworkers describe him as hardworking and friendly. His personal service philosophy is to “always deliver the best client service on a timely basis and at an affordable price.” Joel explains that he pursued a career in accounting because he has “a passion for helping small business owners grow their businesses and prosper. I love the opportunity to work in a variety of industries and help clients achieve their goals.” He attributes his success to staying goal-driven, working hard, and always keeping the desired end result in focus.

A graduate of Ferris State University, Joel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). He also serves his local community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Fenton & Linden Chamber of Commerce and is a former Chairman of the Board.

Joel resides in Fenton, Michigan. In his personal time, he enjoys attending sporting events and traveling. He spends most of his free time in the Fenton community with his wife, Skylar, and their children, Everlee and Kole.
